In Japan, Suiboku-ga, known as 水墨画, is the art of ink painting. It is also known in the west as Sumi-e, (墨絵), and is the embodiment of Japanese aesthetics. Using just simple black ink, carefully curated white space and a control over water, suiboku-ga captures the timeless beauty and complexity of the natural world.

I also use sumi to create Calligraphy pieces in Kanji, known as 漢字. I write important words or phrases in Japanese to inspire deep thought and meditation.
